Lyndhurst Secondary College – Grow your Ideas
Lynbrook Village Shopping Centre in partnership with Lyndhurst Secondary College has hosted “Grow Your Ideas” art competition for teens since 2017. Students from Lyndhurst Secondary College are invited to submit an A3 piece of art with a different theme each year.
The purpose of this art competition is to increase the exchange of art and culture in our community and to encourage young Lyndhurst Secondary College students in creating art and developing their individual creativity.
Retail Marketing Manager at Lynbrook Village Shopping Centre Melanie Brown says it’s all about building strong ties locally. “Part of becoming a community-minded citizen is being conscious of the area in which we trade; these are our people, and we want to support them.” Ms Brown said. Lynbrook Village provides $1,000 worth of art suppliers to assist the students and up to 60 amazing pieces of student art are submitted each year. 30 final pieces are selected to be reproduced as large format form board and displayed in the Centres main foyer for public exhibition each year from Easter until mid-June.
The 30 Finalists are invited to a presentation lunch at Suburban Burger Lynbrook where the prizes are awarded to the top three plus prize for a People’s Choice Award. The overall winner will have their artwork used on the centres Retailer Directory for the following 12 months.
The art looks fantastic in the Centre and everyone is encouraged to visit the centre including mums, dads and grandparents to view the art and vote for their favourite via QR code.
Come on in and view this exhibition and vote for your favourite piece of art in 2022!
